M.A. Sinology

The M.A. subject Sinology can only be studied in the two-subject model, i.e. it is combined with another subject from this model that is not offered by the Faculty of East Asian Studies. Students who wish to complete further East Asian Studies courses in addition to focusing on Sinology can choose the M.A. East Asian Studies (OAW) in the single-subject model. The standard period of study in both cases is four semesters.

Admission requirements are good knowledge of Chinese at the level achieved in the language modules of the Bachelor's degree program Sinology at Ruhr University Bochum (contact time 42 hours per week). Knowledge of English at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languae (CEFR) is also required.
