Introduction to the Databases of Prices, Wages and Transport Costs in Gansu Province in the Qianlong Reign

The databases have been set up in cooperation of the Seminar für Sinologie und Koreanistik, Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen, Germany, and the Institute for History of Natural Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing. The participants of the project group were Chen Chaoyong and Su Rongyu from Beijing, and Juliane Kiefner, Christine Moll-Murata, and Hans Ulrich Vogel from Tübingen. The project was supported by the Max Planck Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Wissenschaften e.V., and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), Germany.

The Gansu edition of “Regulations and precedents on prices of materials” used for this project are in the holdings of the Library of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Beijing). It is a manuscript of eight chapters and covers twelve prefectures and sub-prefectures. Its introductory memorial is dated the 20th day of the XIIth month of Qianlong 33 (27/01/1769).

Chen Chaoyong has punctuated the prefatory materials of the Gansu edition of the “Regulations and precedents on prices of materials” the readers’ easier reference.

甘肅省《物料價值則例》數據庫介紹

本《物料價值則例》數據庫為德國馬普基金支助，由德國圖賓根大學漢學系和中國科學院自然科學史研究所合作所製作。參加人員有中國科學院自然科學史研究所陳朝勇、蘇榮譽，德國圖賓根大學漢學系朱麗安、莫克莉、傅漢思等。

甘肅省《物料價值則例》數據庫，乃據中國科學院圖書館所藏抄本製作，共有八卷，包括甘肅省12府、直隸州。乾隆三十三年十二月二十日 (1769年1月27日) 奏摺、物料價值總畧和凡例 等，除編排不同外，內容均同。為求讀者方便閱讀，全文及其標點由陳朝勇編排。
