Theme Issue: Future in East Asia
Edited by Rüdiger Breuer and Christine Moll-Murata
In this theme issue, scholars in East Asian Studies are presenting conceptions of the future in China, Japan, and Korea in interdisciplinary perspective. The essays analyse and interpret specific East Asian and universal encodings and concepts of the future as well as anticipations and options for action of individuals, societies and states. The temporal frame extends from futures of the past to the future yet to come between the fifth century BC and the present.
